Ikan Masak Cuka Utara Recipe
If you're in the mood for a tangy and slightly spicy fish dish, this Ikan Masak Cuka Utara recipe is perfect for you. Here are the ingredients you'll need:
- 500g of mackerel or any other firm white fish
- 1 cup of water
- 1 cup of vinegar
- 1 cup of sliced shallots
- 1 cup of sliced garlic
- 1 tbsp of sugar
- 3 tbsp of chilli paste
- 1 tbsp of salt
- 1 tsp of tamarind paste
Now let's get cooking!
- Clean and cut the fish into 3-4 pieces. Rub salt all over the fish and set aside for 10 minutes.
- In a frying pan, fry the fish until golden brown. Set aside on a plate.
- In the same pan, sauté the shallots and garlic until fragrant. Then add in the chilli paste and tamarind paste. Stir well.
- Add the water and vinegar to the pan, followed by the sugar and salt. Stir well and bring to a boil.
- Lower the heat and let the mixture simmer for 5 minutes.
- Add in the fried fish to the pan and coat it with the sauce. Simmer for another 5-10 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- And voila! Your Ikan Masak Cuka Utara is ready to be served.
Ikan Masak Santan Recipe
Now if you're in the mood for a rich and creamy fish dish, this Ikan Masak Santan recipe is just what you need. Here are the ingredients:

- 1 cup of water
- 1 cup of sliced shallots
- 1 cup of sliced garlic
- 5 red chillies
- 2 tbsp of tamarind paste
- 1 tsp of sugar

- Clean and cut the fish into 3-4 pieces. Rub salt all over the fish and set aside for 10 minutes.
- In a frying pan, fry the fish until golden brown. Set aside on a plate.
- In a blender, blend the shallots, garlic, and red chillies into a paste.
- In the same pan, sauté the blended paste until fragrant.
- Add the coconut milk and water to the pan and stir well.
- Add in the tamarind paste, sugar, and salt. Stir well and bring to a boil.
- Add in the fried fish to the pan and coat it with the sauce. Simmer for another 5-10 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- And there you have it! Your Ikan Masak Santan is ready to be enjoyed.
